Why Me?

Played the main event today and just busted out at the end of the 5th level. I think I played really well except for 1 hand, but as usual I got cold decked. So fucking frustrating. Anyway, I will give details of the interesting hands.

a loose player makes it 150 utg at the 25/50 level. I make it 550 with JJ, and 2 people and the origonal raiser call. The origonal raiser leads for 950 on the 9 10 K flop. I fold along with everyone else, he shows JQ.

I raise to 400 with AK at the 50/100 level after 1 limper. I get 4 callers. Flop AQ2 checks to me I bet 725, and I take it down

I get AK twice more, raise 5x, get 5 callers both times, and I check fold both times after missing the flop.

Really tight player makes it 400 with the blinds of 50/100, 3 people call and so do i with J8 in the bb. Flop is 10 Q A. Checks to the O.R. who bets 900. I call. turn K. At this point I only have 4k left, and I though he would put me on the J if I shove. I also put him on a set or AK, so I though there was a chance he would call to try and fill up. I shoved, and he thought for a bit and folded. I could have bet less but I think the I get the same result.

I raise with A8 from middle possition to 450 at the 75/150 level. The loose player who flopped the straight against my JJ calls in the BB. Flop is 8 6 4 rainbow. He checks I bet 800 he calls. Turn is a K. He checks so do I. River is a Q. He checks again. At this point I was pretty sure that he had an 8, 6 or pp under an 8. There was a small chance he hit the Q, but I had a strong feeling I was good, and there is more hands that I am beating then losing to. So I bed 1500 and he calls with 77. A pretty sick value bet.

I raise utg with AJ utg. Get 1 caller. Flop 10 7 2. I lead for 900 and he folds

This is a big had that I think I played well, went with my read, and the donk just couldn't fold: With the blinds at 100/200 I limp with 9 10 after 1 utg limper, so does the puck, sb, and bb. After it checks to me on a flop of QhQc4h, I felt like I could just take it down so I bet 550. The bigger stack who was hitting almost everything, but always bet his big hands strong, just called. I was 90% sure he had the flush draw, but possibly a pp or a 4. For all three possibilities after the turn fell the Kd, I thought 1150 was a good bet. He quickly called again. The river was the Ad. Now I was pretty sure he missed his draw, but it was possible that he had an A. I figured that there was a good chance that he had to give me credit for a Q though, and might fold an A if he had one. I decided that 2200 was a good bet, that would make him fold the majority of his hands. He says "well that damn river got me, but I guess I have to call" and tosses in the 2200 with KhJh. Good call I guess, but I think I just got unluckey that this guy was more of a donk then I thought, and I played the hand well.

with the blinds at 100/200 the cut off made it 500 after 1 limper. I made it 1500 with JJ, and when it got back to him he put me all in. I folded, and he showed AA.

same blinds, utg +1 makes it 600. Now this guy always over raised with huge hands, so I was pretty sure he wasn't that strong and probably had AJ, AQ, AK, KQ, KJ ext. Everyone folds to me and I call with 55. Flop was 347. I should have led, but checked. I was planning on a check raise, but then he bet 1100. I still thought I was good, but I didn't want the pot to get out of control, so I just called with what I thought was the best hand, but 6 outs at worst. Turn was another 7. I should have led again, but again I checked, knowing he would check behind, he did. All I was thinking was no face card, no face card, and the river was the ugly A. I checked he bet 1100 and I folded. This was the hand that I messed up, but I don't think it was that bad, just wanted to keep the pot small, which I did, and I just got unluckey.

After limping and folding a lot of hands, and calling riases with pp, I was down to 6700, at the dinner break. I came back after a meal and felt ready to grind it back up. I fold the first 5 hands, and then on my bb, folds to the cut off to slopily throws out 900 with the blinds at 150/300. Now this guy just lost about a 20k pot, so he is deffinetely steaming. I am just praying for anything playable, because his range is just so fucking huge here. I look down at QQ. Sweet. I think for a bit, and I thought he was really pissed from the last hand, so he would call me with a lot of weaker hands then normal, so I just shoved for 6400 total, and he insta called with KK. Are you fucking serious. What a joke.

So all in all I think I played a really good tournament, and it was nice to have enough chips to actually play some good poker. I enjoyed it, and look forward the the next big event. Krissy, and Steve are still in so glglglgl to them.

On a good note I am doing well on Eurolinx so lets home that I keep that up.

Anway I will be back.........

Off to BC

I leave tomorrow for BC which should be a lot of fun. I am going to let you all know that I have a really really really good feeling about this tourney. Not sure why, but I definitely do. I think it's about time I run good in a live tourney, and maybe if I win this thing (700k+) I will be even from all my tourney buy in's from Turning Stone. It should be a great tourney, and it's all the more great because I don't have to pay for anything. Gl to krissy, myst, steve, billivey and who ever else is playing in this thing that I know. Hopefully when I write again I will have a lot of good things to talk about. I am going to post when I can, and hopefully I will have time to do it in really good detail.

Wish us luck.......

What do you know

Played at 1/2 for just about 3 weeks, and didnt' really have a good solid rush. I really tried to grind it out for a long time, and I was staying around even, maybe up a bit, waiting for my run. Then I had the worst run of cards I have ever had for a two day period. The end of the run was capped of by missing 9 flush draws in a row (half of them with openended or two overs also). Then finally I hit the k high flush on the turn (obv 2 cards in hand), and wouldn't you know it, he has the ace high flush. So crazy that I can miss 9 draws in a row ranging from 9-16 outs, but the one time I have a 7 outer to get completely destroyed I hit it. At this point I had to drop back down to .50/1 before I went tap. I really didn't want to drop down though because I knew I was going to go on a sick run soon. What do you know the first session of .50/1 I just destroy it, rushing like crazy. About 1 hour in I hit a royal flush a acutally won a nice pot with it. I hit a bunch of sets, flushes over flushes, and I'm up 6.5 buyins at .50/1 right off the bat after 1 session. I have been playing 1/2 for 3 weeks, played countless sessions and I haven't rushed like that once, but I play one session at .50/1 and it happens. I feel like i'm cursed when it comes to moving up levels. What ever, I will take another shot in a couple weeks, I only have to make about 12 more buyins to move up again. My rakeback has been huge lately though, for the month of Oct. I got 1500 cash, which is only 30%, the other 20% goes towards my tourney fund.

Some good news is that Krissy and I leave for BC in about 2 weeks for the BC tourney. That's going to be a lot of fun. By far the biggest tourney I have ever played in. And maybe, just maybe, I will actaully run well in a live tourney. We will just have to see.

I'll be back.....
