It's been a while

It's been a while since my last post. After I had that great run, in which I was obviously running really well, the opposite side of variance reared it's ugly head. I had a couple of weeks worth of tournaments without any cashes.

So like I do every time I have a bad run in tournaments I took a break. I didn't play anything online aside from the Sunday tourneys for about a week. I also went to Turning Stone for their poker tournaments (which is completely different then online poker, so it still counted as a break).

I played 3 tournaments there, and managed to build a nice stack in every single one of them, but nothing materialized out of it. I think I played really well for the first half of the tournament, but near the end I think I lost my patience. It's so hard as an online player (who is usually playing 4 tables at a time) to come to live tournaments, and stay patient. It just feels soooooo slow at times, and I find it very difficult.

As usual I had a great time there, playing some live poker, hanging out with friends, and making ridiculous prob bets all week. For example $100 games of Jenga with Galen and Krissy. All in all I had a great time and it was a good break from online poker.

After the break was over I was excited to get back into the mtt's. I have had a couple smaller tourney scores since then, including a 2nd in a $33 mtt for 2.3k, 2nd in the $55r for 8.5k, 3rd in the $55 1r for 1.5k, and 1st in the $33r for 4k. In the $33r I was at the most insane table I have ever been at during the rebuy period. At the end of the FIRST hour, there were 3 players with 50k+ stacks. That is absolutely insane considering that would have been about an average stack when it got down to the final 2 tables.

So as usual the break was well timed for me as I was started to get worn out of playing tourneys, and not playing my best. Since taking a break, I think I have been playing much better, and I have had some good results.

The most important thing I have to share is the perfect game that I bowled in Wii bowling. That's right, a perfect game. Felt better then any tourney win(obviously i'm jokeing, but it still felt damn good).

We have also started to go bowling (the real kind) lately, and it is nice to get some sort of physical activity in, other then golfing.

Anyway, I will be back....
